Who We Help

Teenage Learners

Cybersecurity is one of the fastest-growing and most exciting fields in technology. The problems are real. The impact is huge. And the industry desperately needs new talent: people who think creatively, ask hard questions, and want to build something that matters. If you're curious about how systems work, fascinated by coding, or wondering whether a tech career could be for you, Cyber Heroez is the place to find out.

About this audience

Why Cybersecurity?

The global cybersecurity workforce gap stands at 4.8 million professionals (ISC2 2024). In the UK alone, the cyber workforce shrank by 4.9% last year, the largest contraction worldwide. That's not a threat. It's your opportunity. Firms are actively looking to hire and mentor the next generation.

Meanwhile, 43% of UK businesses experienced a cyber breach or attack in the past year (DSIT 2025), and 85% of those attacks were phishing. Every organisation needs people who understand these threats and can defend against them. That could be you, and you don't need a university degree to start.

What Heroez Coding Club Offers

Heroez Coding Club is our programme for young people aged 11 to 18. The curriculum is built and published: 17 courses and 69 lessons on Hero Skool, grouped into three levels so you can start from zero. The club is ready to run, and we are booking the first clubs now with schools and community venues.

  • +Hands-on coding in Python, with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL alongside it
  • +Cybersecurity fundamentals: how the internet works, secure coding, and an introduction to ethical hacking and responsible disclosure
  • +Twenty coding challenges that run in your browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing to set up
  • +Things you finish and keep: a profile page, a mini quiz app, a text adventure, and a final project you design yourself
  • +A route into our Mentorship programme, which is running now, if you want to take it further

Certification Sponsorship

Certification support comes through our Mentorship programme, which is running now. Mentees work with professionals in cybersecurity, software engineering and data science, and where we can we provide study resources and sponsor exam fees for certifications such as CompTIA Security+. The programme is deliberately small: our first two mentees were Oliver and Ethan, and we work with three mentors. Oliver has since joined Cyber Heroez as a product security intern. We would rather report real outcomes than round numbers.

Who Can Join

Ages 11 to 18. No prior coding experience needed, just curiosity. If your school or a group near you would host a club, put us in touch and we will talk to them about setting one up. If you already know you want mentoring rather than a club, say so and we will point you at the Mentorship programme instead.
