[The Challenge]

The Internet Isn't Safe by Default

1 in 3

children aged 8–17 saw something harmful online last year (Ofcom 2024)

55%

of parents of 8 to 17 year olds say their child's screen time is too high (Ofcom, 2025)

59%

of 11 to 17 year olds have some experience of gambling (Gambling Commission, 2025)

Adult content, gambling and endless scrolling are one click away on every device, and the tools meant to help either harvest personal data, cost more than families can justify, or are trivial to click past. OROQ was built because everyone deserves a browser that holds the line, without giving up their privacy to get it.

[The Solution]

Protection That Holds. Privacy That Does Not Compromise.

OROQ blocks harmful sites at the network layer, before the page loads, and keeps the block in place when willpower runs out. It is live today as a Chrome and Firefox extension, with an Android app awaiting approval on Google Play. There are no accounts and no servers: your settings live in your own browser storage, so we cannot see what you block, what you browse, or that you use OROQ at all.

01

Category Blocking

Over 500,000 adult, gambling and drug domains blocked at the network layer, before the page loads, rather than an overlay that can be clicked past.

02

Focus Mode

One click blocks social media, gaming and streaming for a timed 30, 45 or 60 minute session, with a visible countdown. Built for study, deep work and homework.

03

Locked Down by Design

A PIN protects the settings so the block cannot be lifted on impulse, SafeSearch is forced on Google and Bing, and the DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers used to slip past filters are blocked.

04

Classroom Mode (Coming Soon)

A single toggle for teachers to set class-wide browsing rules during lessons, blocking distractions while keeping educational resources accessible. It arrives with the school plan for the browser extension, and with the mobile app.

05

Honest About Limits

OROQ protects the browser it is installed in, and a determined user can disable any browser extension. It is built for people who want the block to hold, rather than as a way to police someone who does not.

[Category Blocking]

Blocked Before the Page Loads

OROQ's filtering runs on the device, checking every request against a list of over 500,000 adult, gambling and drug domains and blocking it at the network layer, before the page loads. No URL, page content, or browsing history is transmitted to us at any point.

+Over 500,000 adult, gambling and drug domains

[Focus Mode]

One Click, and the Distractions Are Gone

Focus Mode blocks social media, gaming and streaming for a timed session of 30, 45 or 60 minutes, with a visible countdown so the commitment stays honest. It is built for study periods, homework and deep work, and it cannot be lifted early without the PIN.

+Timed sessions of 30, 45 or 60 minutes
+Blocks social media, gaming and streaming for the duration
+A visible countdown keeps the session honest
+Works alongside Classroom Mode for lessons and exam periods

It Stays On When It Matters

A filter that can be switched off in a weak moment is not a filter. OROQ locks its settings behind a PIN, forces SafeSearch on Google and Bing so it cannot be toggled off while OROQ is running, and blocks the DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers people use to route around filters.

+PIN lock on settings, so the block cannot be lifted on impulse
+Strict SafeSearch enforced on Google and Bing
+Blocks DNS-over-HTTPS bypass and steers the browser to a safe resolver
+Your own allowlist: always want a site available, add it

Classroom Mode

One toggle sets browsing rules across a whole class for the lesson.

[Classroom Mode (Coming Soon)]

Coming Next: Focus During Lessons, Freedom During Breaks

Classroom Mode gives teachers a single toggle to set browsing rules across an entire class, blocking distracting sites during lessons while keeping educational resources reachable. While it is active the approved-sites list expands, and classroom rules take priority, so a pre-existing user rule cannot defeat them. It arrives with the school plan for the browser extension, and with the mobile app.

+One-click class-wide browsing rules for teachers
+Allowlist the educational sites a class needs while active
+Classroom rules take priority over any pre-existing user rule
