The Cyber Guardian Programme gives parents and guardians practical skills to understand what their children are doing online, recognise threats before they escalate, and build a family culture of digital safety that actually works.
The Parenting Challenge
1 in 3 children aged 8–17 saw something harmful online in the past year (Ofcom 2024). That includes violent content, self-harm material, online bullying, and contact from strangers. These aren't edge cases; they're common experiences for children growing up in a connected world. And the threats are becoming more sophisticated, with AI-generated content making it harder to distinguish real from fake.
Only 20% of parents knew their child had encountered something upsetting online (Ofcom 2024). The gap between what children experience and what families talk about is one of the biggest challenges in digital parenting. It's not that parents don't care; it's that the landscape moves so fast that yesterday's advice is already out of date. The Cyber Guardian Programme helps you keep up.
What the Programme Covers
The Cyber Guardian Programme is designed as interactive workshops (typically 4–6 sessions) in schools, libraries, and community venues. Each session is practical and discussion-based. You won't sit through lectures. You'll practice recognising threats, setting up tools, and having the conversations that matter.

OROQ for Families
OROQ is free for families today, and you do not have to wait for a workshop to use it. It is our privacy-first browser extension: it blocks over 500,000 adult, gambling and drug domains before the page loads, enforces SafeSearch, and locks its own settings behind a PIN, with no account and nothing leaving your device. It takes about two minutes to install on Chrome or Firefox. When the workshops run, they will build on it rather than replace it.
Whole-Community Impact
We're building Cyber Guardian around schools because digital safety works best when home and school reinforce the same messages. Teachers will be able to refer parents to sessions, and parents come away understanding what the school is teaching. This joined-up approach creates consistency for children and makes the lessons stick.
Getting Involved
Cyber Guardian is in development. We are building it around schools and community venues in the West Midlands and working towards first sessions in 2027. We are being straight about why: Cyber Heroez funds its community programmes out of what Hero Skool, OROQ and SecuraLens earn, so the workshops follow the products rather than the other way round.
